Made in the USA, the 2006/2007 MSR Lightning women snowshoes have been designed and engineered specifically for womens' strides.
NOTE: The difference between the MSR Lightning model and the Lightning Ascent model is that the Lightning Ascent includes the Televator™ Heel Lifter bar which can be flipped into place on climbs. Televator™ Heel Lifter reduces calf fatigue to make climbing easier and more efficient.
As soon as you take your first step in the woman's MSR Lightning snowshoe you'll recognize the 360° grip of this incredibly lightweight snowshoe's Total-Traction frame design.
Total-Traction frame is made with one vertical blade of aerospace-grade aluminum, supported by two cross-members of high-strength steel. These snowshoes use proprietary urethane deckings that are durable and waterproof. Step-On molded-urethane bindings feature speed-hook buckles, and open wide for easy access; fits all types of women's winter boots and hiking shoes. The women's MSR Lightning True-Hinge™ steel crampon not only grips, it provides stability and reduces heel drift for a more efficient gait. All materials are waterproof, thus will not soak up any water, freeze, and turn heavy. Straps remain adjustable and easy to use in all conditions.
